Allyson "Friday" Morrison, Massage Therapist
Ally is a Certified Massage Therapist who graduated in 1997 from Colorado Springs Academy of Therapeutic Massage with 1,100 hours of study. She holds additional certifications in LaStone (hot/cold stone) Therapy and Ashiatsu Oriental Barefoot Therapy. The additional studies within Traditional Thai Massage and Mayan Uterine Belly Massage round out her formal massage training. She has apprenticed and practiced therapeutic aromatherapy since 1996 and has been a regular student of Hatha Yoga since 1998. Ally also holds a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University, 1990.
In 2004, Ally joined with others who shared the vision of an integrated healthcare clinic and helped to found Sacred Tree Integrative Healthcare and Wellness Spa for the Breckenridge community. Finding the support of a clinic that encourages the education and development of the practitioner for the good of all in the community, she has been able to take her practice to even more refined levels.
Since 2004, Ally has been consistently voted one of Summit County's Top Massage Therapists and in 2006 received “Best Of” by readers of the Summit Daily. Ally also teaches Anusara-Inspired Hatha Yoga classes weekly, drawing on the wisdom and experience of 12 years as a full-time bodyworker. Ongoing study and practice of Yoga Therapeutics has broadened her alignment-based massage practice and yoga therapy offerings.
Known for her varied deep tissue techniques, Ally treats many looking for a high level of touch therapy, blending a range of massage modalities appropriate to the occasion. Sessions place an emphasis on aligning the physical structure with a full and playful breath and a deeper awareness of our thoughts and attitudes.
Ally maintains close personal and professional ties with a variety of caregivers in diverse fields: chiropractic, naturopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, exercise physiology, yoga therapy, as well as diverse massage and bodywork modalities. She strives to be an educated and connected resource for her patients and live the holistic lifestyle.
A quote from her yoga teacher that neatly sums up Ally's philosophy and approach: “When our bodies are open and free from pain, we are better able to celebrate ourselves.”
